Abstract

The use of air conditioning (AC) machines is increasing day by day, but the main function of AC is generally only used as an air conditioner. This research designs a heating system (water heater) for a Panasonic brand 1 PK Split AC machine with R32 refrigerant made in 2018. The aim of this research is to utilize the release of heat energy from a 1 PK cooling machine as a water heating energy source in an effort to implement conservation principles energy and examine the relative effectiveness of waste heat produced by the condenser on a 1 PK AC machine which has been modified as a water heater.

In the Pac pressure test, it was stable at 45 Psi, while the pressure at Pref varied, the maximum was 139 Psi and the lowest was 133 Psi. The 60 minute test proved that the system pressure had stabilized and had not changed drastically. The system does not have significant problems where the pressure remains at 45 Psi within 60 minutes.
