Abstract
Renewable energy is a source of energy of natural origin that is able to be used freely, capable of being updated continuously and infinitely in number. Indonesia has abundant solar energy potential. Although the potential is abundant, the utilization of solar energy for Solar Power Plant (SPP) until 2020 is only 153.8 MW or 0.07% of the existing potential. In addition, the government continues to encourage the transformation of energy in Indonesia from fossil energy to New and Renewable Energy (NRE), one of which is through the construction of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (PEVCS) sourced from renewable energy. This study aims to design a 300 kWp Solar Rooftop for PEVCS at PLN Distribution Main Unit in Greater Jakarta. The design study includes the feasibility of technical, environmental, and economic aspects using the PRO Version 3.2 Hybrid Optimization of Multiple Energy Resources (HOMER) Software. The results showed the best system configuration on grid with economic feasibility NPC(Rp) = 1.06B, COE=69.95 Rp/kWh, and PBP = 16 years. The availability of considerable solar energy potential with an average of 4.76 kWh/m2/day and large NRE utilization with a renewable fraction of 66.7%. Total energy production (kWh/year) from rooftop solar power plants is 632,038 or 72.3% of the system. The impact of reducing greenhouse gas emissions is in the form of carbon dioxide 153.1 kg/year, sulfur dioxide 664 kg/year, and nitrogen oxides 325 kg/year.
Keywords- Electric vehicle; GHGs Emissions; HOMER simulation; New and renewable energy (NRE); Solar Power Plant (SPP).
