Abstract
Smart living is a development of the Internet of Things (IoT). The meaning of smart living itself refers to the ability to control and connect everything in the surrounding environment to the internet. According to research by Machina, there are 16 million connections from the Internet of Things spread across various sectors such as smart homes, smart industries, and even smart cities. The research method used in this study was observational, focusing on the range of LoRa usage with parameters including RSSI, SNR, and Packet Loss. The results showed that the average RSSI was -94.6 dBm at a distance of 50 meters, -105.4 dBm at 100 meters, -106.8 dBm at 150 meters, -111 dBm at 200 meters, -106.6 dBm at 250 meters, and -108.8 dBm at 300 meters. Meanwhile, the highest SNR value was recorded at 50 meters with a value of 11 dB, while the lowest was at 300 meters with a value of -8 dB. The highest error rate was observed at a distance of 250 meters, with an error value of 88%. This indicates that as the distance between the transmitter and receiver increases, the strength and quality of the signal tend to decrease, ultimately affecting the reliability of communication. Overall, at greater distances, interference (noise) becomes more dominant compared to the received signal.
