Abstract
Conventional energy sources will be increasingly limited, therefore energy sources are needed that can replace them, namely renewable energy, one of which
is sunlight. This study aims to investigate the efficiency and economic aspects of the floating solar farm passive cooling system. The cooling systems used or studied
in this study are the floating method, plants, coconut fiber, floating plants and
floating coconut fiber. The five methods are used as cooling materials in an effort
to maintain the surface temperature of the solar panels and improve system
performance. The parameters measured in this study such as voltage, current,
power, temperature, and characteristics of the power generated by the solar panels using various cooling methods. With an economic analysis that includes capital
costs, maintenance costs, and electrical energy production costs as a financial
feasibility assessment with the use of passive cooling systems. The results show that
passive cooling systems, especially floating cooling systems, are most effective in
lowering surface temperatures and improving energy efficiency. In addition, it is
economically feasible with the fastest energy return time and reduced operational
costs. This system is suitable for application in tropical countries such as Indonesia as an energy-saving and environmentally friendly solution.
