Abstract
The design of the prototype of the coil block track circuit reader height measuring tool on the kcic work train was carried out conventionally by measuring manually from the rail surface using a ruler. The lighting obtained was not optimal because the coil block track circuit reader was underfloor, making it difficult to measure. This allows for a lack of safety levels, practicality of recording and accuracy of measurement results. The purpose of this study was to create a prototype of a track circuit reader height measuring tool to improve the accuracy and safety of officers. The method used was based on the design and manufacture of the tool. The results of the deviation measurement of the prototype coil block track circuit reader height measuring tool carried out by 4 people were 0.0067%, while the deviation results of the manual method were 1.132%. Based on these data, there was a decrease in the deviation results with the accuracy capability of the two-digit tool behind the decimal point equipped with a display and the results of automatic recording were recorded in excel. So that the accuracy of the coil track circuit reader measurement is achieved according to standards, facilitating the recording of measurement data and improving worker safety.
