Abstract
This study aims to develop a voice-based multimeter to support inclusive electrical
engineering learning for the blind. This tool is designed to measure voltage and electric current at a specific range, where the measurement results will be translated into sound using voice command technology. This multimeter uses main components such as the ESP8266 microcontroller for system control, INA219DC sensor for voltage and current detection, DFPlayer module for audio processing, and HMI screen as a user interface. The test results show that this tool has a high level of accuracy, with an average error of 10% for voltage measurement and 4% for current measurement, resulting in an accuracy level of 90% and 96%, respectively. The calculation of this error uses the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) method, which proves that this voice-based multimeter can be an alternative measuring instrument that is precise and reliable. In addition to the primary tool, this study also includes developing supporting components such as a braille-based electrical circuit trainer, a braille practicum module, and a braille resistor, all designed to improve learning accessibility for blind people. With this innovation, voice-based multimeters are expected to provide practical and effective solutions to support the independence of blind people in conducting electrical measurements while increasing their inclusivity, productivity, and participation in electrical engineering.
