Abstract

Autonomous cars have a control system architecture where there are several components that are integrated with each other to determine direction, destination, and decision making. The decision-making system is responsible for navigating the autonomous vehicle from its initial state and position to the destination. The decision-making system is divided into sub-systems that have different tasks such as route planning, direction decision-making, and obstacle avoidance. In this research, a miniatur autonomous car was experimented with Arduino Mega 2560 and 3 ultrasonic sensors at the front of the car with the result that navigation decisions such as forward, backward, left turn, right turn, and stop were taken quite accurately based on sensor data. The system successfully drives autonomously and can avoid obstacles effectively. Data analysis shows that the car can respond quickly to the obstacle conditions in front of it and make the right decisions.
