Abstract

Abstract-We have succeeded in making a prototype controller for a weight
detection conveyor using a Load Cell based on a Mitsubishi FXIN-24MR PLC
(Programmable Logic Controller). A number of stages include manufacturing the
conveyor system unit, electrical system, PLC programming, and performance
measurement. Assembly of the conveyor unit goes through the stages of installing
the conveyor belt, dc motor, pneumatic cylinder, solenoid valve, and infrared
sensor, Load Cell sensor. The electrical system is an integration of the Mitsubishi
FXIN-24MR PLC, power supply, push button, and selector switch which are
arranged in a panel box measuring 20 x 30 x 15 ст. Programming the Mitsubishi
FXIN-24MR PLC system is based on determining algorithms and preparing
Ladder diagrams with the help of GX Work software. Performance measurement is
in the form of reading the Ladder diagram using GX Work software and the step
movements ofthe test object have quite large differences in throwing distance, this
occurs due to the influence of the opening of the Speed Control Fitting and the
weight of the test object itself. The lighter the test object, the greater the throwing
distance produced when using large wind pressure, and conversely, the heavier the
test object, the shorter the throwing distance produced when using small wind
pressure. The speed of the Servo Motor must match the time when the Pneumatic
Cylinder moves forward so that the test object enters the acrylic box perfectly. The
corresponding Servo Motor speed when the Pneumatic Cylinder moves forward is
7.08 m/s. this is the constant speed of the Servo Motor that best matches the
movement of the Pneumatic Cylinder. The air pressure entering from the
compressor into the Pneumatic conveyor system is 0.25 Mpa. Then air is flowed to
all parts of the Pneumatic circuit. However, to control the size of the thrust ofthe
Pneumatic Cylinder to the test object, this can only be done by adjusting the
opening of the Speed Control Fitting.
