Abstract

There are many remote areas in Indonesia that cannot yet receive PLN electricity, especially in remote villages, even though these villages have many river flows, but most of the river flows cannot yet be utilized as generators that have the potential to generate electricity. water, while electricity forgets the current basic needs and also as an economic driver, household equipment, machines, street lighting and others use electricity, as is the case in Jarengget Village, Sukamakmur Village, Sukamakmur District, Bogor Regency. due to the condition of the roads which do not have electricity and during the rainy season there are often blackouts from PLN. Therefore, the aim of this research is to design a picohydro power plant in Jarengget Village, Sukamakmur Village, Sukamakmur District, Bogor Regency with a generator capacity of 300 Watts to be used as street lighting. In this research, the water output from the AC steam pump will be used to drive a water wheel which is coupled to a generator, where later the kinetic energy from the water wheel will be converted into electrical energy by the generator, then testing and measuring voltage and electric current will be carried out. This test and measurement is carried out once a day for 3 days using a multimeter, watt meter and stopwatch. Based on this test, the amount of water discharge will affect the voltage, current and generator output power. A battery capacity of 12 Volts, 25 AH or 240 WH is used to light 9 lamps, (10 Watt lamp power per fruit) with an electric power of 240 WH (battery fully charged) can illuminate LED street lights in Jarengget Village, Sukamakmur Village, Sukamakmur District, Bogor Regency for as long as 12 hours. The results of measurements at the generator location produced per hour are 5.56 Watts. The electrical power output is very small due to the current dry season conditions which affect the reduced water flow, so that the turbine to drive the generator is not optimal. In the future, the design of the picohydro power plant in Jarengget Village, Sukamakmur Village, Sukamakmur District, Bogor Regency, can be refined in the future by adding a larger generator capacity and as a research object at the JGU campus.
