Abstract

Competence and performance concerns the authority of each employee to carry out tasks or make decisions according to their role in the organization, which is in accordance with their expertise. knowledge and abilities. Competence and performance of human resources must be able to support the implementation of organizational strategies in order to achieve them optimally. In other words, the competence possessed by employees must be able to support the existing work system in the organization in facing changes in the competitive environment and an increasingly competitive business, high competence will affect the performance displayed by employees.
It is known that the answers of respondents who assessed the 5 dimensions described in 10 indicators mean that the respondents stated that 6 indicators were good with an average value of 53.1% and 4 indicators were not good each with the criteria of disagreeing with the average value -average 36.8%, then the results of research on employee performance can be seen from the answers of respondents who assess the 2 dimensions outlined in 4 indicators, the average respondent states that 3 indicators are good with an average value of 45.7% and which are not good as much as 1 indicator each with criteria disagree with an average value of 42.3%. It is known that the correlation value of the degree of closeness of variable X (competence) to Variable Y (Employee Performance) is 0.449 with the correlation value between 0.40-0.599, has a criterion for the level of closeness or moderate relationship, then the calculation results of the coefficient of determination show a value of 20, 16%. This means that the influence of competence on employee performance is 20.16% and the remaining 79.84% is influenced by other factors outside other research variables.
We recommend that you increase the education and training provided to employees and improve or maintain qualifications/competency standards in career development. This can be done by increasing the education and training provided to all employees.
