Abstract
Realizing the importance of human resources for the survival and progress of schools, schools must pay special attention to teachers and their staff and schools should always view their employees as the best partners in improving the quality of education because they are related to achieving school goals. Human resources can provide achievements, namely the extent to which human resources release all their abilities to contribute to schools to achieve good educational goals. To achieve school goals there should be a reciprocal relationship between schools and their staff. Staff employees provide the best work performance, the school appreciates and provides factors that support the creation of optimal work performance. Performance appraisal is an evaluation of a person's performance level compared to predetermined performance standards, for consideration in determining promotions, compensation, the need for training or development, or for dismissing someone.
It is known that the correlation value of the level of leadership style closeness (X) to work performance (Y) is 0.819, meaning that the correlation value is between 0.80-1,000 with the criteria of a very strong level of closeness and it is known that the coefficient of determination of the influence of leadership style on work performance is 67, 07% and the remaining 32.93% are influenced by other factors outside of other research variables such as compensation, work discipline, organizational culture and others.
