Abstract
Human resources, which in this case are employees in an organization, of course try to work with the abilities they have in order to achieve the desired performance of the organization. A sense of security and comfort in the work atmosphere can encourage employees to be more dedicated in completing work, and will help employees achieve better performance. The Department of Water Resources Management (PSDA), Mining and Energy of Sukabumi Regency, has a function, one of which is the administration of government affairs and public services in the fields of Water Resources Management (PSDA), Mining and Energy.
Based on the results of research on variable X, namely motivation, it is known that the answers of respondents who judged the 2 dimensions described in 11 indicators, the average respondent stated good as many as 8 indicators with an average value of 47.1% and those who stated not good were 3 indicators with a value an average of 51.6% then the results of research on variable Y, namely employee performance, it is known that the answers of respondents who assess the 3 dimensions described in 8 indicators, on average, respondents say 5 indicators are good with an average value of 45.16% and stated not good as many as 3 indicators with an average value of 46.26%.
From the results of the research above, it is evident that motivation has a strong influence on employee performance, in order to pay more attention to the employee performance appraisal process as much as possible, so that performance appraisal is not considered a policy that burdens employees
