Abstract

Solar Power Plants (PLTS) are a renewable energy solution that offers significant benefits for the increasing electricity needs in Indonesia. However,
stationary solar panels that do not follow the movement of the sun have limitations in capturing sunlight optimally. This research aims to design and test a PLTS with a capacity of 300 WP that can follow the movement of the sun to increase the efficiency of charging electricity in Taman Mayor Depok. This research also evaluates the effect of irradiation and temperature on the output power produced by solar panels. The research method involves designing a system that includes
solar panels, batteries, solar charge controller, inverter, and socket. Testing was
carried out by measuring the PLTS output current and voltage, as well as analyzing the effectiveness of the system in different environmental conditions. The results of research on the design of solar panels in Taman Mayor Depok are capable of
producing 1,748.03 Watts of electrical energy, which is enough to meet the power
needs of three charging stations for 7 hours. The implementation of a Solar Power
Plant (PLTS) with a capacity of 300WP shows the potential for significant
operational cost savings, namely 629.28 kWh per year or Rp. 850,786, with a
payback period of around 8.8 years, which provides long-term economic benefits.
Apart from that, the results of the charger station user satisfaction survey showed
that 65% felt satisfied, 30% felt safe, and 75% felt this tool was useful because it
made it easier to access electricity in public places and supported the use of
environmentally friendly renewable energy.
