Abstract
The rapid development of high-rise buildings increases the need for vertical transportation systems such as elevators. However, an efficient and easily accessible control system is also needed. This study proposes an elevator control system designed to move people from one floor to another, which can be monitored and controlled remotely via a smartphone application. This system uses Outseal PLC as the main control, integrated with the elevator main drive, elevator door drive, and Internet of Things (IoT) system. MQTT is used to send data that is processed into signals by the NodeMCU ESP8266. This data is then sent to Arduino and forwarded to the PLC to regulate elevator operations. The research method used is Research and Development (R and D), which involves planned research and experiments to create new innovations. System testing shows that the elevator control functions well, and the Android-based application developed using Kodular can run even though there are differences in response time. By using the IoT concept, this system simplifies elevator operation and provides an efficient solution for monitoring, maintaining, and rescuing elevator users in the event of damage. The result is that the system can send elevators precisely, integrating Outseal PLC using Modbus RTU for remote control. Even though there is a power failure, the system still functions, and the Outseal PLC is effective for automation learning. The overall test and evaluation results show that the average score obtained is 86.67%, indicating that the prototype that has been designed and made has met high usability criteria, so it can be said that it is very feasible to use without the need for significant improvements in the usability aspect.
