Abstract

The development of electric vehicles in Indonesia will strengthen, inseparable from the support of good battery charging infrastructure so that users do not experience problems in charging batteries. Likewise, solar energy is not only easy to obtain from nature, but also environmentally friendly, so it becomes a mainstay technology in the world. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an Electric Vehicle Charging Station with solar
power.
In every electrical system, there are various problems may occur, which can interfere with or even cause damage to various components and electrical equipment in it. This thesis will examine how to protect a solar-based Electric Vehicle Charging Station with good and correct electrical safety devices. To comply with the purpose of electrical safety, that is, it will not harm and damage the equipment in the event of a disturbance. This research covers the calculation method, installation method, and testing method of each safety device used. The safety devices used are Miniatur Circuit Breaker (MCB), Thermal Overload Relay (TOR) dan Earth-leakage circuit breaker (ELCB). And the security feasibility test tool used is the HMJBC-1200 tester.
Keywords: SPKL with solar power, safety device, MCB, TOR, ELCB, HMJBC- 1200 Relay Tester.
