Abstract

Failure to plant climbing roses is caused by unstable soil conditions (sometimes dry and sometimes too wet) and unstable temperatures. Instability is created by irregular watering. On this occasion, the research aims to design a tool that will help facilitate and monitor automatic plant watering in the process using the IoT virtuino application with a Wifi network. This research uses quantitative methods, where this tool functions to water rose plants automatically and control soil temperature and humidity with incandescent lights, exhaust fans, DC water pumps as actuators, this research uses soil moisture (Soil Moisture) and temperature (DHT) sensors. 11) as well as ESP32 DEVKIT as its main component. The validation test of the DHT 11 sensor with a digital thermometer resulted in an
average percentage error of 1% with a difference of 0.19933 and the resistive and capacitive soil moisture sensors obtained an average percentage error of 7%. In practice, this tool can work according to temperature parameters (≤ 18°C), ( 26°C) and soil moisture parameters (RH) ≥ 300 (RH) ≤972 RH. The exhaust fan
lowers the temperature value to 30.2°C -25.8°C takes 21 minutes to control the
high temperature and the incandescent lamp increases the temperature value to
14.8°C -18.2°C takes 29 minutes to control the low temperature and the DC water
pump waters the plants at the value (RH). 447-317 takes 35 minutes to control
soil moisture. So it can be useful for the development of rose plants and automatic
watering so that the plants can continue to grow well.
