Abstract

The human need for electrical energy is increasing every day and the more electronic equipment used, the greater the costs that must be incurred after the use of electrical energy. PLN (State Electricity Company) only provides analogue KWH Meters so that users cannot monitor electricity usage through the web application or via smartphones
and also cannot perform remote control features on some electronic equipment. So that
an idea emerged to make a digital KWH Meter device that could be monitored from laptops and smartphones and there was also a Relay control feature by modifying the Cayenne web application. This study aims to make a digital KWH Meter device
accompanied by power monitoring features, the amount of the cost of using electrical
energy, and relay control features using an internet connection. The research method
here uses experimental methods by observing the sensor output connected to a web
application. The test results of this tool show that the connection between the
microcontroller and the device and the Cayenne web application works well via an
internet connection, and with this tool users can see real time data on the use of electrical energy and the amount of the cost. In addition, this research contributes to the development of the latest technological knowledge at the JGU Campus (Jakarta Global
University).
