Abstract

Plastic is waste that comes from man-made production and is difficult to decompose by bacteria because of its long and complex carbon chain. Waste also has many types from organic, inorganic and even metal. Over time, waste will increase, especially plastic waste, because this waste is very difficult to decompose. Plastic waste is also often found in various places such as offices, tourist attractions, on the streets and even in educational places such as the Jakarta Global University campus. This study aims to design a management system to minimize plastic bottle waste, a plastic bottle waste shredder was created. With an RFID-Based Waste Management System at the Jakarta Global University Campus. This study uses the research and development (R&D) method. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, the RFID reading voltage is not affected by distance with an average value of 3.217V and an average error value of 3.13%. The speed of the DC motor gets a value of around 1080.9RPM-3507.5RPM, because it is influenced by the number of bottles. The results of the scales can be converted into 1 gram/Rp.3 money. This research can be further developed by adding a blade that is specifically for plastic bottles so that it can be chopped perfectly and reduce vibrations on the tool, also pay attention to the placement of the load cell which must be appropriate and precise so that the accuracy value is in accordance with the manual scale and in the future must use a prototype made of iron/stainless steel to reduce the risk and danger when chopped.
