Abstract

The development of information technology, such as the internet, allows the exchange of information and communication in real-time without regional and time restrictions. The internet has also facilitated the development of e-commerce and online buying and selling websites, which offer free advertising services for goods or services. E-commerce users on various platforms are also expanding. This research aims to design a package recipient box that can facilitate the delivery of packages between expedition couriers and e-commerce service users and maintain the integrity of the package. This research uses the Research and Development method with a 4D model, namely definition, design, development, and dissemination or implementation. The tool is equipped with an ESP32 microcontroller that receives input from the GM66 sensor as a tool to validate the suitability of the package and uses Telegram as its communication. The design of the tool begins with installing components according to the schematic design, creating its communication channels through Telegram and making observations such as observations of the design of the form and functionality of the system. If the courier successfully scans between the package box and the GM66 barcode scanner, the system will automatically read the courier's scan results and adjust to the receipt number in the database. Researchers use the Firebase Database web as a place to store the database. The scan results are in accordance with the database, then the system sends Telegram notifications and the system can open the locker door automatically. As a result of this study, the input, process, and output components run with good performance. All components have voltages and currents that are still within their tolerance limits. The researcher also received positive validation based on the results of a questionnaire that was randomly distributed to 30 (thirty) respondents. Thus, the researcher hopes that this study can develop the security system in previous studies.
