Abstract

A screw turbine is a type of hydroelectric power plant using a blade. The turbine converts mechanical energy into electrical energy. Usually this screw turbine can be used in mountainous areas, rivers and waterways at home. This screw turbine is very useful for the community and can save the cost of paying for electricity. This water turbine is used to convert the impulse current from water into rotary energy which is then forwarded to a generator and produces electrical energy. The performance of this water turbine is influenced by several objects, the tilt angle of the turbine, the distance between the blades on the turbine, the turbine frame and the number of blades. This study only focuses on the distance between the different blades. The method used in this research is the experimental method. A blade with a distance between blades of 10 cm (Blade B) is a blade that produces an average rotation of 223.4 RPM and the highest voltage power among other blades, which reaches an average voltage of 41.6 Volts. While the results of the medium and lowest voltage are the distance between the blades of 11 cm and 8 cm (Blade C and Blade A). Both of these blades have an average output voltage of 35.85 Volts and 26.3 Volts, respectively.
