Abstract

The increase in population makes the land for growing crops narrower because it is displaced by residential needs, people need organic plants as ingredients for consumption. Microgreen is one way to meet these needs. In this study, a prototype monitoring and controlling system was designed for microgreen cultivation that was integrated with the internet using a website. By doing a setpoint on the environmental parameters needed by microgreen plants. This system is designed using a DHT11 sensor as a temperature and humidity sensor in the plant environment, a soil moisture sensor as a plant media humidity sensor, and RTC DS3231 as a time control. The sensor output process will be processed by the Arduino Mega 2560 microcontroller and forwarded to the actuators automatically. This prototype will be able to reduce the air temperature by 3.65 °C, and maintain the humidity of the growing media to 43%. This prototype can increase the yield of microgreens with a yield of 8cm in 14 days of planting.
