Abstract

ABSTRACT
The survival of living things on earth is highly dependent on water. Oceans cover
more than 70% of our planet. In addition to supporting most life on Earth, the ocean also
contributes to the water cycle by providing food, energy, and oxygen. It is important to
start teaching children about the ocean at a young age. As the successors of the earth's
natural resources, children must have a deep love and respect for the ocean in order to
instill in themselves a sense of responsibility to protect it from pollution and ecological
damage. The reason the author chose the title Design of an Educational Application for
Introduction and Learning of Marine Biota Based on Android is because there is still a
lack of learning about marine biota based on android applications and for learning
media and making it easier for early childhood to get to know marine biota easily and
interestingly. The design of the application for introduction and learning of marine biota
based on android uses the ADDIE model with 5 stages, namely Analysis, Design,
Development, Implementation, Evaluation. The following are the results of research
conducted by media experts, subject matter experts, and students themselves regarding
the feasibility of an Android-based marine biota introduction and learning educational
application as a learning medium for children: First, with a feasibility level of 72.8%, the
media quality assessment by media experts is classified as feasible. Second, with a
feasibility percentage of 85%, the material expert's evaluation of the content produced
good findings. Third, with a feasibility level of 79.4%, students' comments on the use of
the application are classified as very feasible. Therefore, it can be concluded that the
adventure game application for Android is feasible to be used as a teaching tool for
children to learn about marine biota.
