Abstract
LThe life of city dwellers who are very busy with their own work results in limited time and opportunities for city dwellers to do gardening or farming activities at home. A automatically system of watering plants in vertical gardens using Arduino-based Internet of Things technology was developed which aims to facilitate citizen tasks in carrying out vertical gardening activities at home. This system uses the ESP32 microcontroller as the main regulator and controller and also use the Blynk application as a tool in charge of real time monitoring that can be accessed from Android and websites. The function of this system is to regulate the humidity level of the planting around the plant is maintained in the range of 40%-60% and the temperature around the plant is maintained at 25°C-35°C From tests that has been conducted on this system, the average error value that occurred on the humidity sensor was 4,29% and the average error value on the temperature sensor was 5.69% Tests were also carried out for the Blynk monitoring system and successfully 100% to displaying realtime data results where the humidity and temperature conditions of the soil media were controlled as needed. In the next development can be added testing the efficiency and economic value of this system, and also added testing of the overall electricity needs of this system.
